Archiso-live 20100202 Release
Changes since last release:
* Kernel updated to 2.6.32.7.
* Also updated my kernel to have pae support. This is so i don’t have to make a 32-bit and 64-bit iso. That would make it harder to maintain. Most common 3rd party kernel modules are rebuild to work with this kernel in my repo.
* The iso now auto logins into arch user now.
Everything is up2date as of 1:00 PM EST on 20100202.
root password is ArchLinux
arch password is arch
Here is the iso, md5, and package list.
Package changes here.
hey, been a fan since the first release!
thank you for sharing all your work!!
many blessings to you in this new year

About the non-booting Compaq, this may be because the CPU doesn’t support pae. Intel in its wisdom appears to have omitted this function from some Pentium Ms. I have the same problem with a ThinkPad R51 1.6 GHz machine. Try cat /proc/cpuinfo in a terminal and look at the ‘flags’ listing. If there is no pae flag, machine won’t run with the latest archiso kernel. You would need to try an older version of archiso. As I understand it, pae allows a 32-bit cpu to fully use 4G of RAM.

Hi again. i connect to internet finally. Download wvdial and his dependence with ubuntu and use shaman to install it’s whit tool called “install from one archive”.
And I can stop x, broken it. I change name of Driver “vesa” for “anything” and crash it. Then, i can log and install nvidia driver without x. Thanks. Now I try to update, and replace xfce for gnome. I like arch. I love it. And your distribution. Thanks.

Hi I’d like to have a bigger root partition as it’s almost full upon installation. I try to make it bigger but it defaults back to 6.5 gb (or something like that)
Is there anyway round this?

Just to say once again : thank you. Nice piece of work!
Have one question. Have to boot with ‘safe graphics’ sine nvidia graphics card. Any way to install the ‘nouveau’ or ‘nvidia’ drivers under ArchLinux.
Thank you.
