Archiso-live 20100217 Release
Changes since last release:
* Updated aufs2 module.
* Updated my mkinitcpio scripts in my build scripts.
* Removed shaman from iso since its not in repo anymore. Its mostly cause no one can build i686 version anymore.
* I found out that some pentium M cpu will not work with my newer pae kernel. I’m sorry for the inconvenience. Pae kernel was the better way for still having i686 os with wine and virtualbox-ose support. This also meant i didn’t need to build and upload 2 isos.
Everything is up2date as of 4:50 PM EST on 20100217.
root password is ArchLinux

Archiso-live 20100217 Release and Archiso-live 20100202 Release ..i cant login. when the arch loging…the mouse turn “X” and the monitor turn black..then it crashed…
How can I install from this Live CD? Do you have any tutorial for this?

Can you tell me what hardware your running it on? Also this maybe cause by the autologin with slim. I have never had it crash on me though.

in menu System->Install Arch Linux. My advice is to use gparted for partitioning and adding swap (if you want swap). This is only cause partition or add swap through larchin may cause it to freeze up. I don’t have a tutorial for it since it not a install that i made. It was made for the larch build scripts. It just works a lot better then the other version of larchin.

It maybe cause i use pae kernel but I not sure. This is only cause you should have got a ‘kernel not support this cpu’ message. The only thing i can think is that slim autologin is causing problems and crashing. You could use the rootcopy command to change /etc/slim.conf without me updating the iso for now.
You just have to make a rootcopy/etc folder on the root of you hard drive. Then added the new slim.conf from here. Now you just have to add rootcopy=rootcopy on cmdline on booting archiso-live.
This should (I hope) fix it for you. I hope it helps.

Try to prove this change in arch.
but remember you have installed one version and “did not work well” when booting my desk was “Archis” live “and other things that I liked, I did not catch many mistakes.
Random question here but do you happen to have a version of this CD that uses KDE or Gnome? or do I need to install this then install one or the other and remove xfce?

I using your distro as my favorite way to install Arch Linux and in fact i have it running on all my machines and the ones of my family. I want to try a fresh install to solve some glitches with my laptop, so I reinstall it on root partition. It’s fine, as always except for a thing: sound is not working. This also happen on my mothers laptop. Any notice about why?. I will be reading docs about sound config in Arch Linux meanwhile to see if I can solve it by myself.
With almost 70k hits and active readers and commentators seems that Archiso Live is getting a lot of popularity. And this is becoming a small community. May be people could go from there to other support places. You’re doing great but I think that pointers to newbies forums and other places could help you with support issues.

I am still having video issues when I try to boot from CD. My computer is X58-UD4P Gigabyte and nVidea 8800 GTS. I’ve took a picture from the screen I see after booting. It is impossible to go far beyond this point.
