Archiso-live 20090407 Release

Changes since last release:

* The /etc/rc.d/archlive script now checks for /etc/X11/xorg.conf file. This is so you can added your own xorg.conf file. This is good when you added xorg.conf file to rootcopy on a usb stick. No need to change boot options.

* Rebuild kernel with the lastest 2.6.28.9 patch. 3rd party modules shouldn’t be effected.

* Added a acerone boot option. This is to setup acerone based on the wiki here. This is very experimental. Use at your own risk.

* Everything is up2date has of 8:00PM EST on 20090407.

root password is ArchLinux

arch password is arch

  1. Hi Godane,

I cannot build my own archlinux-live anymore 😦

Due to the new 2.6.29 kernel in core, aufs won’t work anymore. Do you have a workaround, or should we arm ourselves with patience and wait until your new release comes out?

    You’re doing a nice work!

    • The new aufs should work just fine if your using kernel 2.6.29.1-3 package. kernel 2.6.29.1-2 would hang your system up with aufs cause of the unionfs patch.

If your using official archiso then you would have a problem since it only works with unionfs.

      I hope this helps.

  2. Hi again 🙂

    Thank you for your answer.

Well, i ‘ve solved it making an own reposítory of core, replacing the new kernel with the old one I needeed, 2.6.28.x

    After a repo-add test.core.db.tar.gz *.pkg.tar.gz …

    Your script worked again 🙂

Your help is more apreciated then ever. I will follow your tips as soon I’m able to do so, of course it is much better to get the current kernel version to work. Probably the new aufs package will solve the problem.

    Thank you once again!

    Sincerely yours,

    Eddi

    • I’m using the older kernel 2.6.28.9 cause of a bug with rtl8187 driver. The bug causes my uploads to be very slow then with kernel 2.6.28.x. So I’m going to be on the older kernel until this slow upload bug is fix for me.
