archiso-testing 20090302 Release

Changes since last release:

* This is a testing release using the testing repo. I decide to do this a day early cause at the moment testing repo is stable. Even with the new xorg-server 1.6.0.

* Using the hal 5.11-7 package now. Before i was using the older one so that everything worked. I got everything working now with the newer hal.

* Removed non-free ati drivers modules and commented out the boot menu option. This is cause the non-free ati drivers don’t work with xorg-server 1.6.0 yet.

* Everything is up to date as of 8:00PM EST on 20090302.

  1. hi mate. it’s great distro especially with lxde. i just download it and trying to install with some errors (tmpfs not mounted loops… don’t know exactly whats goin’ on, im new to arch but ill give it a try later. only compiz is actually missing from packages. on the previous realese ive seen compiz workin with ati driver. how can it be?
    cheers

  2. Hello godane, thanks for the nice package. It is not working in my Acer travelmate 291Lci laptop. X-org is fails to load as it could not find the screen.Any work around is there from the command prompt?

    • Try the failsafe boot option. This release is using the testing repo so everything may not work right.

  3. Thanks for your reply. Fail safe works. But there is no applications listed /log out / shut down options in lxde panel. I tried this in Acer Aspire one also. In Acer Aspire 4920 all option working (ATi card/ bluetooth etc not checked).Once again thanks for this nice package and for the efforts made.
